“Top to bottom” is the phrase every cleaning company uses, and it tells you nothing. The only way to compare two quotes is to see what each one actually covers. So here is our list.
Every room
- Ceiling fans dusted
- Baseboards wiped down
- Light switches wiped down
- Window sills wiped
- All floors vacuumed or steamed
- Cobwebs removed
Bathrooms
- Mirrors cleaned, chrome polished
- Shower, bath, sinks, vanity, backsplashes, toilet, tile walls and floors cleaned and sanitized
- Bathroom floors are cleaned by hand. Not mopped — by hand. It is slower, and it is the difference you notice in the corners and along the grout.
Bedrooms
- Beds made — leave clean sheets out and we will change them
- Dusted, polished and straightened
Living rooms
- Straightened, dusted and polished
- Lamp shades dusted
- Cloth furniture vacuumed
- Leather furniture cleaned and polished
What a deep clean adds
Everything above, plus scrubbing. A first-time deep clean is what gets a house to a baseline that regular visits can then hold.
What a move-out clean adds
Different job again: cabinet and drawer interiors, oven and refrigerator interiors, blinds deep cleaned with a damp cloth, vent fronts and switchplates, glass doors and windows, and a 16-foot extension for ceiling fans and anything else out of reach.
If something on your list is not on ours, say so when we walk the house. It is easier to add it to the plan than to discover it afterwards.
